Stroud General Hospital, in Trinity Road, Stroud, is a general hospital providing:-
- 22 medical beds (GP)
- 22 assessment and rehabilitation beds for the elderly
- 17 surgical beds
The following surgery is available at Stroud General:-
- Colo-rectal
- Breast surgery
- Gynaecological surgery
- Minor orthopaedic surgery
- Vascular Surgery
- Urology
- General Surgery
- Laparscopic cholecystectomy
Gastroscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy and cystoscopy services are also available within the Endoscopy Unit.
It was originally expected that in-patient surgery at Stroud General would be ended as part of Gloucestershire NHS Health Community's 'Future of Healthcare in Gloucestershire' proposals. This was not included in the proposal document when it was released, so we understand that these services are no longer under immediate threat. Other savings within surgery at Stroud General may be proposed in the future, and we will keep this site updated with any developments.
