The Independent Reconfiguration Panel has today published its report, submitted to the Secretary of State for Health last month, on the proposals for changes to inpatient Mental Health services for older people. The report supports the proposal to centralise Gloucestershire's inpatient services for older people with mental health problems at one centre in Cheltenham, despite the many objections raised throughout the community.
The Secretary of State has accepted the recommendations of the IRP's report, giving the Health Community the green light to go ahead with its original proposals.
